Jack Russell Terrier

If you have never owned a Jack Russell Terrier, please do your research to make sure this dog is a good fit, and you have the time, energy, space, and love to give. This is a Jack Russell Terrier, 8-12″ tall at the withers. Jack Russell Terriers are loving, smart, fun, and loyal, with a big personality. This is not a Parson Jack Russell. Jack Russell’s make wonderful companions, they require experienced owners who can provide consistency, positive reinforcement and plenty of exercise.
They are a working dog that need to be challenged. A good variety of safe toys that match their boundless energy and a independent spirit are recommended. Bred for hunting, Jack Russell’s will also do well with different sports and activities. They are built for go-to-ground activities as well as racing, chasing, and agility. The JRTCA is a good site for Jack Russell Terrier trials and events.
Because Jack Russell’s are a baying terrier, they can be vocal. However, these dogs are always alert and make good watchdogs. They also need to be well socialized as puppies, especially if there are children and other dogs in the home. This breed will test you, but the love and loyalty is worth it.
Obedience classes are highly recommended. These dogs are highly trainable and fast learners so get them into puppy classes ASAP.
Our Jack's

She loves chasing Mom and our other dog, Banana.
She has a watchful nature and is a quick learner already picking up on fetch by watching Mom.`
She has a couple years to grow before her first litter.
Past Jack's
Sassy was our first Jack Russell. She was a long leg jack russell, (Parsons Jack), very active, adventurous, and loved her family. She went on many camping and beach trips. When she was two yrs, we brought home another jack, Mylo, both from the same Dam but, Mylo was a shorty jack. Both Sassy and Mylo loved to play fetch. Sassy’s favorite was a frisby and Mylo liked chasing plastic bottles.
